Whomever does your IFTA account setup will send you two IFTA stickers / decals for each qualified motor vehicle in your fleet. You will then have to place the IFTA stickers on your cab
Placement of IFTA stickers.
One IFTA sticker / decal must be placed on the exterior portion of the cab's passenger side. The second IFTA sticker / decal must be placed in the same position on the driver's side.
IRP Plates
The International Registration Plan (IRP - Plates) and International Fuel
Tax Agreement (IFTA - Stickers) are cooperative programs to collect and distribute
registration and fuel tax revenue between member states and Canadian
provinces. The programs are great for truckers and carriers. Most of all they simplify the tax preparation by consolidating licensing and
reporting requirements through the base (home) state.

California or the “Golden State” is the most populous state in the U.S.
with nearly 40 million people. California law states that if you qualify
for IFTA but choose not to register you must purchase a California Fuel
Trip Permit each time you reenter the state. In order to fully register
you must request form 400-IF from the Motor Carrier Section. California
charges an annual $10 for the license and $2 per set of decals.
